Now We Know How Much Gold World of Warcraft Players Need to Unlock All of Midnight’s Transmog Slots

With World of Warcraft’s Midnight pre-patch coming this month, Blizzard is overhauling and expanding the transmog system with ways to unlock and save full outfits and even add outfits to your action bar for easy on-the-go switching. A new report adds up what unlocking all of the new slots might cost you, and turns out the devs have created a very deep gold sink.

The report comes from Icy Veins and Adds up how much the new transmog system will cost if you to unlock all 50 Warband-wide outfit slots. Details come from the PTR, so things are subject to change, but they added up what the full cost will be. Your first two slots are free, so everyone will be able to use the system without any gold, but this is quite limited, and if you’ve been playing for a while, you probably have a ton of options you’d like to show off, especially since you can swap looks without having to visit a vendor.

Unlocking slots 3-10 will cost you about 12,550 gold. Prices rise  after this, with slots 11-15 costing 10k each, slots 16-20 costing 20k each, and slots 21-30 costing you 35k for each unlock. Slots 31 through 40 will cost you 50k each, and from 41 to 50, you’re looking at 100,000 gold per unlock. If you plan to unlock everything you will need more than  2,012,650 in gold to spend.

The system hasn’t been added to live yet so when it does arrive January 20th, you’ll get a chance to decide how many slots you think are worth it. Whether that’s a practical 10 slots or if you need to unlock at least 31 for a possible outfit of the day rotation, we’ll know soon.
